Internal panels can cost less and may help in the short term, but your old roof stays in place. If that roof is leaking, failing or noisy, the underlying problem remains.

Panels may suit you if the roof is sound and you only want a modest improvement. A new roof makes more sense if the room leaks, suffers condensation or is unusable for much of the year.
